A small, handmade piece from Provence in the south of France. It had been quietly used as a dish for the cat—one of those everyday details I find strangely endearing. I love how the hand-painted olive motif still carries the marks of the maker’s touch.
From what I can tell, it was fired at low to mid temperatures, which makes the clay relatively fragile. It’s prone to chipping—even when handled with care, you might suddenly notice a tiny piece missing.
To restore the chipped area, I shaped layers of lacquer while carefully masking the surface to prevent seepage into the fine cracks.
