When my family learned that I had started practicing kintsugi, they began saving broken dishes to give me whenever I returned to Japan. It’s a thoughtful gesture, as I find it difficult to intentionally break items for practice.

This Tokoname teacup was entrusted to me by my sister. The iron-rich clay gives it a beautifully radiant sheen.
